The Community Bee Clinic is a radical veterinary practice and series of participatory, multimedia installations where visitors can become emergency caregivers for ill and dying honey bees. Through the performance of interspecies nursing care and use of speculative biomedical objects, participants are invited to engage with non-human bodies and ecologies in new ways and at new scales. The mission of the clinic is to train attentiveness and care toward non-human bodies through moments of agency, urgency, and intimacy.

The unique honeybee-nursing protocol was developed by the clinic’s primary care provider, Lisa Korpos, in collaboration with the Nieh Lab at the University of California, San Diego, where the health, environmental stressors, and communication of social bees are studied.
