Brian Black is a practicing artist and teacher in Southern California. He received a Masters of Art degree in Sculpture from Northern Illinois University in 2000 and has since exhibited work nationally and intentionally. Brian’s work deals with body-space, object interaction, and often employs humor and mild endurance-based achievements.
Doodad is his new series of endurance body-space performances started in 2020, and each performance uses negative space created by the artist’s body as he interacts with a moving object. For Other Places art fair, Brian is showcasing four performances from the series:
200 Slot Laps, 100 Shirt Shots, Time 10:26 Fixed, and 19:17 of Fountain.
